Dental veneers shield your teeth with a thin porcelain shell designed to cover damaged or discolored teeth and fill in gaps from missing ones. At John Khoury Dental, we use veneers to give you a beautiful smile, correct uneven teeth, and provide you with a comfortable bite.

During your consultation visit, we’ll discuss whether you’re a good candidate for veneers to ensure we provide the best oral health care possible.

Should You Get Dental Veneers?

Most dental patients benefit from veneers instead of crowns, tooth implants, or other more invasive procedures. While primarily a cosmetic treatment, patients enjoy their new smile without its natural flaws.

Some dental issues covered by dental veneers include:

  • Chipped or damaged teeth
  • Crooked or misshapen teeth
  • Misalignment
  • Deep tooth discoloration

Have you tried braces, teeth whitening, or temporary dental fixtures that haven’t provided your ideal results? Dental veneers may give you the smile you’ve always wanted.

While veneers address many common dental problems, teeth with deep cavities or cracks may need repairs or other options for dental veneers. As long as your teeth retain their basic tooth structure, we can apply veneers with little to no discomfort.

What Types of Veneers Are Available?

John Khoury Dental provides dental veneers made of different materials. Each option has benefits and drawbacks but gives you a long-lasting, beautiful smile.

Two of our most popular dental veneer materials include porcelain and composite resin.

Porcelain Veneers

The longest-lasting veneers come in porcelain, a stain-resistant, gentle-on-the-gums material. Wafer-thin porcelain shells adhere to the front surface of your tooth to match the look of natural teeth. Porcelain veneers cost between $950 and $2,500 per tooth.

Composite Veneers

The placement of composite resin veneers involves applying the resin in liquid form, curing it, and then polishing it to perfection. Composite veneers don’t last as long as porcelain veneers but make replacements and repairs easier. Composite resin veneers cost between $200 and $1,500 per tooth. Therefore, this material is a more affordable option for the budget-conscious.

Do You Need Temporary Veneers?

Some time may pass between your first consultation and your final veneer fitting. Preparing for veneers involves the removal of some enamel from the front surface of your teeth, creating a better bond for your permanent veneers. While waiting for your final ones to arrive, your mouth will need temporary veneers to keep your teeth comfortable and safe.

Many patients flash confident smiles even while wearing the temporary veneers. You’ll get the chance to enjoy your new teeth before they arrive, though the material doesn’t provide the same strength as your permanent veneers.

Once your veneers come in, you’ll already feel used to your new mouth. You’ll know what to expect as your veneers settle in.
